Day-to-Day Living

Meals are served either in the Dining Room or in the Resident’s own room depending on our Residents Requirements and personal preference.

Breakfast is served between 8am and 9.30 am
Dinner at 1 pm
High Tea at 5.30 pm
Supper at 8.00 pm

Mid-morning coffee and afternoon teas are served in the lounges and on sunnier days in the gardens. Tea/Coffee and refreshments are always available and extra meals and nutritional supplements are given as required.

There is an excellent and varied cuisine together with a choice of menu at each meal. Staff attend in the dining room to supervise and assist Residents with meals as necessary.

Our Chefs will visit each Resident to establish likes and dislikes and are happy to cater for individual tastes. Our kitchen will also cater for special diets e.g. diabetic, coeliac or renal patients.

Birthdays are always celebrated with high tea and a cake. The parlour is available to Residents for private parties and meetings or their own. All our kitchen staff are HACCP trained.

Medical Care

Residents may remain under the care of their current Doctor or arrangements can be made for persons who wish to transfer to a local General Practitioner, General Practitioners visit Rockshire Care Centre regularly and on request.

It is advised that all personal clothing be marked. Relatives have the choice of taking laundry home or Rockshire Care Centre can arrange to have it sent to a local Laundry. There is a charge for this service but it is at cost.

Safety Precautions

We have retained the services of Fire and Health & Safety Consultants who advise on all aspects of fire prevention and safety. Our Staff are trained in patient moving and handling, CPR, and First Aid.

Personal Property

Residents are encouraged to bring personal items with happy associations for them, and by prior arrangement, their own small items of furniture, keepsakes and personal mementos as can be accommodated in their rooms. It is our intention at all times to promote the comfort and happiness of each individual Resident.

It is most desirable to leave valuables in the care of Relatives or perhaps the Bank. However if this is not possible valuables including jewellery and money should be handed into the office for safe keeping, and a receipt will be issued.

High value items should be separately insured. We take every reasonable precaution to ensure the safety of our Residents’ belongings but we cannot accept responsibility unless the articles are handed in for safe keeping.
