History of Rockshire Care Centre
Rockshire Care Centre formerly known as Rosario Nursing Home has been run as a nursing home since the 1970’s, it was bought by Michael and Marie Dwyer in 1980, upon their return from England where both had met and trained, Michael as an Accountant and Marie, a General Nurse & Midwife.
Rosario continued to look after the elderly of Waterford City and South Kilkenny, and in 2006 it was rebuilt as it currently stands as 38 bed purpose-built Nursing Home which has developed a strong track record working HSE community teams and UHW.
Our Aim is to work hard to promote and maintain independence for all our residents, enabling each person to live a dignified and fulfilled life. Our dedicated team provide Residential, Nursing, Dementia & Respite Care, for those who choose to make rockshire Care Centre their home.
Our approach is more than meeting care needs, it’s about caring for the health, wellbeing and interests of our residents as a whole, working closely with residents and their family to create a detailed and bespoke care plan and appoint a named nurse to ensure consistency of care. We pride ourselves on the standards of care delivered by our highly trained and motivated team. We encourage and support residents to maintain links outside the nursing home, and endeavour to welcome the local and wider community to contribute in meaningful and purposeful activities for our residents.
Our team are highly experienced and dedicated, there will be an emphasis on continuing education and training, to ensure all staff are up to date with best practice, therefore providing the highest standard of care.
Prior to admission, our Director of Nursing will be delighted to have a full consultation with you, to discuss your needs and requirements, and tell you more about Rockshire Care Centre.
We’d love the opportunity to show you around and to get to know our team.
